Thanks for adding how important the delivery is to a successful pitch. That pitch just has to get you through the door, then it's showtime...you better be prepared to back that enthusiasm up with a solid product or service. The key thing in the elevator pitch is NOT the actual words one uses. You need to be an actor, almost, or be able to communicate passion and excitement. No matter how well done the 'pitch,' it will fall on deaf ears if delivered poorly. So...my advice would be to work as much on the actual delivery.
