What’s McNext for McDonalds?

05.24.2007 | Chris Bailey | Focused on Media

The BBC reports that McDonald’s is working to get the word ‘McJob’ stricken from the Oxford English Dictionary. The dictionary defines it as, “an unstimulating low-paid job with few prospects.” Will McDonald’s next go after Grey’s Anatomy claiming that McDreamy sounds too much like one of their frozen desserts?

They’re obviously trying to get past this stereotype as one of their most recent commercials is a woman who started on the front lines that has worked her way all the way up to a regional manager/director position.

What’s next? Perhaps a focus on getting a McCareer instead of just a McPart-time job.

I noticed that commercial, too. Perhaps more of these types of ads will encourage some rethinking on our part (as the Big Mac-consuming public).
